Casa Zia

Casa Zia is a lovingly restored, traditional Casa Colonica sitting in the middle of its own 15 acres with a beautiful fan shaped swimming pool, a variety of terraces, traditional pizza oven, outdoor table tennis, olive grove, small vineyard and landscaped gardens. It is ideally situated at the end of a valley, on the side of a hill, facing south. Casa Zia is a very peaceful place - perfect for either relaxing beside the pool, visiting the local sights and markets or walking in the Pratomagno Hills (National Park). There are nightly displays of fireflies and nightingales singing in the spring and early summer. Hoopoes and golden oriels visit the garden when the plum trees are in fruit. The oriels have the most wonderful musical song which you will hear on waking during the summer months at Casa Zia. Within easy reach of Florence, Arezzo and Siena, the house is an excellent base for visiting some of the best sights Italy has to offer. There is WiFi. It is 15 minutes from the nearest town with all shopping requirements and many excellent restaurants nearby.

The house sleeps 8 in two double and two twin bedrooms furnished with antique Tuscan furniture. Each spacious bedroom has its own en-suite shower or bathroom. Upstairs the salotto and adjoining terrace provide a quiet and cool refuge for relaxing away from the midday sun. The vaulted stalle on the ground floor with sitting and dining areas next to the kitchen has eastern, southern and western aspects. The kitchen is well appointed with gas hob and oven, microwave and dishwasher and on the West Terrace, which is covered, there is a traditional pizza oven. There is also a utility room with washing machine and cloakroom. Surrounding the house are terraces offering sun and shade as the day progresses. The beautiful fan shaped pool with infinity edge is set slightly away from the house to the west.
